09-05-2010: Enhanced podcasts on adult learners

'Enhanced podcasts' contain audio, with photographs illustrating and enhancing the sound. They can be really effective and less costly than video and are becoming more and more popular with our clients. The latest production will be a short enhanced podcast about adults learning new skills, for a keynote speaker, representing a local authority, at a forthcoming conference about adult education. We hope to make the podcast available here shortly.

23-04-2010: A record year for new media interaction with doctors

A record level of engagement with new media content includes many podcasts produced for Doctors.net.uk by LimeGreen Media.

Dr Tim Ringrose, medical director of the website, says “Podcasts produced in partnership with Lime Green Media are a vital part of Doctors.net.uk’s suite of multimedia services. Busy doctors really value the highly insightful and professionally conducted interviews with key people, about topical issues such as the flu pandemic, revalidation and junior doctors hours.”

He believes the step change can be attributed to an increased confidence and familiarity with professional online resources. "There is clearly a need for trusted online resources... The leap in usage of learning modules, conference highlights and podcasts is illustrative of opportunities that can be harnessed by the sector... More and more doctors are turning to such services for relevant updates or to gain insights from thought leaders."

10-03-2010: A new CEO at the General Medical Council podcasts to doctors

Niall Dickson has come to the CEO post at the GMC from the Kings Fund and before that, the BBC. His appointment was received with mixed emotion amongst doctors because he is a manager, journalist and broadcaster, rather than a doctor. LimeGreen Media were asked to interview Mr Dickson about one of the most controversial changes due - the way doctors are licensed and re-assessed as they continue to practice. The twenty minute podcast is available for members of the website www.doctors.net.uk LimeGreen Media have been providing podcast content for doctors.net.uk - the uk's largest professional network of doctors - for five years.

13-07-2009: Chief Medical Officer communicates swineflu information through LimeGreen

LimeGreen facilitated an interview with the Chief Medical Officer Professor Sir Liam Donaldson who needed to speak quickly to as many GPs as possible who felt they weren't getting the right information they needed to help patients worried about or contracting swineflu. Speaking from his London office, Sir Liam answered questions submitted by doctors from around the UK. He was able to give them the latest information on the virus and vaccine production as well as correcting some of the misconceptions which continue to abound regarding the pandemic flu outbreak. The interview has so far been downloaded - from doctors.net.uk's website for the medical profession - by more than a thousand GPs and other doctors. Sir Liam, the UK's most senior doctor, has been pleased with the speed in which he can communicate with the medical professioin through podcasting and plans to update them again on swineflu, using LimeGreen's services and expertise in the health sector in coming months.
