20-05-2010: End of Life guidance launch film goes live

The previous guidance for doctors and other health professionals about how to care for people at the end of their lives has been updated after a lengthy consultation process. LimeGreen filmed consultation events, interviews and information about the essential new elements to the guidance. Our film will launched the guidance today and is available on the GMC's website www.gmc-uk.org/guidance/ethical_guidance/7047.asp.

How we end our lives is a hugely controversial and important area of medicine and ethics which requires sensitive production with very clear content. The General Medical Council is responsible for setting the standards which they will later police amongst doctors and which will be followed by other health professionals. LimeGreen filmed at a conference gathering patients, health professionals, support organisations and ethicists together. We've interviewed expert members of the working group about the main issues and new areas of guidance.
