02-06-2009: End of Life
The current guidance for doctors and other health professionals about how to treat and support people who are dying needs to be updated. How we end our lives is a hugely controversial and important area of ethics and the General Medical Council is responsible for setting the standards which they will later police amongst doctors. LimeGreen filmed at a conference gathering patients, health professionals, support organisations and ethicists together. The consultation process continues until later this year. You can contribute to it via their website and LimeGreen will be putting together information with the GMC on their new guidance early in 2010.
