29-06-2009: The new media generation

A hundred of the smartest teenagers from across Somerset have gathered together for a three-day apprentice-style conference at the University of the West of England. IN teams, they have to produce a commissioned piece of art celebrating their brains, and will have to pitch a presentation, including a marketting ad to their peers and invited teaching staff tomorrow. They've been researching brains as well as pushing their own (and our!) grey matter to the limit. LimeGreen Media have been working with one group to produce a live radio programme for each day of the conference, using a mobile radio station designed especially for schools and facilitating new media experiences with the young people. These teenagers have never produced live radio before, they are scared and prepared to push themselves to achieve. We have learned as much from them as they learn from us, once again. It has never been clearer that the future of our society will be technical, personal new media and digital, with these young people leading the way. Using the experience we have with these young people LimeGreen are able to advise organisations how to communicate with the next generation.
